Logo Designer

Let's say you decide to start a new business and you are now looking to get a new logo for your company. You have settled that you will search a ready made logo available on the internet. You open a browser, go to google and search for "ready made logo designs".

Let me start off by saying I strongly believe that each company should hire a branding professional or an experienced logo designer to create their visual identity and signature. Every logo design should be based on a well researched brief constructed on the company's strategies and objectives, as well as on the ever-evolving market. These things being said, where does that leave the "ready-made logo designs"? Do they have a legitimate place on the market? We all know there already is a huge market for them. Ready-made logo designs for sale come out of the designers inspiration, either as exercises the designers make on different themes, or as a result of a sudden spark, a creative wave that "hits" the designer and results in a creative output.

Most of the time it is about that enlightened moment of inspiration. You're all set, ready to put in the hard work and go into every little detail, but you need the spark! You need to go places to get the ball rolling and through this post we want to signal you one of the best places you can go for inspiration.

The Logo Mix is featuring today an amazing project that will inspire you, a project that should go straight to your favorites bookmark, especially if you're a logo designer. Ever since he announced this project around the beginning of this year I stayed tuned as I knew this one was worth following. It's a year long project that's already become a great source of inspiration. Let me give you a hint… it has to do with icons, illustrations and word associations. Guessed it? It is about the highly awarded and amazing graphic designer and illustrator Leighton Hubbell's year long project called 300 RANDOM ICONS. As Leighton states, this is a personal project and the goal is to create and design 300 random icon concepts by the end of 2012. Now I should say that I admire anyone who undertakes a personal project that takes more than six months to complete, as longer side projects have the tendency to challenge you more as they grow older. I especially admire Leighton's project because each one of his icons is an excellent piece, and to keep up that level of inspiration and execution and even take it to a higher standard throughout an entire year is amazing.

This edition of The Logo Mix interviews features a special guest, a logo designer that is highly appreciated by our visitors, a regular high-end contributor and a several times winner of The Logo of the Month selection. Allow me to introduce to you Jon Stapp, alias ATOMICvibe, award winning graphic designer, with a special love for logo and visual identity design. Speaking about his venture name, Jon calls it an "a-HA" moment of creative clarity and says that, like nuclear fusion, the ATOMICvibe is the point at which tiny ideas coalesce, and then explode into beautiful design. We're honored and happy to present you an interview with one of the most appreciated logo designers here at The Logo Mix. Enjoy!

We're back with our usual monthly Top Ten featuring some of the best logo designs posted in our gallery last month. We were preparing for a close race for the Logo of the month when atomicvibe posted some of his work a threw our top up side down. It was kind of a "vini, vidi, vici" type thing. He came by at the end of the month and swipe us off our feet with an amazing design work. So, yeah, maybe I spoiled the surprise this time unveiling the winner from the very beginning, but this kind of work simply deserved the praise. I'm really not trying to diminish in any way the rest of the beautiful logos that make out top this month. They're totally worthy of your words of love an appreciation. So don't withhold them… post your comments and let the winners know they are amazing logo designers.

We're back, alive and kicking with designers' interview here at The Logo Mix, and this time we're featuring a young logo designer, young not only by age, but also by the short period of time since he's joined the logo designers' guild. With a background in Economics, designing logos only from a couple of years ago, Felix has already made an impact, his logo work being recognized by prestige galleries such as the Logolounge and featured around the logo design community websites. He's also won The Logo of the Month, here at The Logo Mix a couple of times with the well known "OKstag" and the lovely "Polar Bear", so he's already inspired and is well appreciated by our gallery visitors. Felix has been kind enough to take some time and answer a few questions for us and here you can enjoy the resulting interview.

It is well known that most of the things we really learn come from our own experience, after banging our own head against the issues that come our way. It is preferable, though, and less painful, to learn from the experience of others. The tips presented below are learned the hard way, at my own expense and hopefully they will help someone in some way. Working your way through logo design projects, you've probably come to similar conclusions, or maybe some other great tips that may help others, thus you're invited to leave a comment and share the things you've learned out of your own expertise.

We have the pleasure to bring you an interview with one of today's most prolific logo designers, an artist who's work has been recognized and featured on over two dozen books on logo design, identity and graphic design. He's been designing logos for more that 20 years, and I'm sure I am not mistaken to say that for many of us, his work has been truly inspirational. Fellow designers, we present you Leighton Hubbell, award-winning logo and graphic designer, who's been kind to take some time out of his busy schedule and share with us a bit about his experience and design work. Enjoy!

In March at The Logo Mix, we've seen new records in terms of numbers of logo designs posted. As you can imagine it was hard to select the best top ten logo designs. This month we've appreciated mainly great ideas, but also didnt forget to notice outstanding execution, high level of details or simple, and powerful icons. Check out some of the best logos posted on the Logo Mix gallery in the month of March 2011.

The art for art or designing for designers are just a few words that we could use to describe the process of creating a fashion logo design. Fashion is a key element for anyone with a sense of style and elegance and, in today's competitive world, fashion brands compete to get their clients attention. Even if we're not looking at the world known and famous fashion designers that have global recognition and set the trends in fashion, there are a certain characteristics that are common to fashion logo designs. Simplicity, glamour and style are the key features of fashion logo designs, and beyond everything they need to express, represent and differentiate the fashion artists and their creations.

We initiate with this post our Logo of the Month selection which is to give credit and appreciate the value of the best logo designs posted on The Logo Mix gallery each month. We strive to appreciate through this selection the logo designers work based on our visitors votes, the comments posted and The Logo Mix team input. We had many very good logo designs posted this month and we thought it was difficult enough to short list five logo designs out of over 100 designs. Even so, the winner logo design detached itself pretty easily from the rest of the short listed ones and became our first Logo of the Month.

Being a professional logo designer means that you have to take into account the different media that the logo will be used for. This is especially important when designing the logo, but also when delivering the final product. Before designing the logo, make sure you understand exactly the media destination you are designing for, or if the logo is intended to be used on several different media, make sure you include a  special file type for each media when you deliver the final product. What types of files should you include when delivering a logo design kit?

Sometimes a typeface seems to be just enough to serve as an inspiration for a logo design idea. With a smart tweak and a bit of color, a typeface could work very well in representing a company or organization's brand. I admire the designers that were able to see beyond the text font in front of them and, through selecting an appropriate typeface, making adjustments to it and adding a specific color scheme, they were able to come up with amazing text based logo designs.

When I first saw the The Caribbean Energy Conference logo I was curios to discover more about the designer behind that awesome logo. In time, looking at the work of Alex Tass I discovered a young, creative and talented designer that came up with new and fresh ideas for his logos. Earlier this month Alex took some time from his busy schedule to talk with us about his work and his life as a logo designer. Enjoy!

It is hard not to notice Nikita's logos in any logo gallery he posts his work on. They are fresh, detailed and a pleasure to view. He had the kindness to answer our questions and we are happy to show you the resulting interview. Enjoy.
