Winter is getting closer each day so it only seems appropriate to go further with some ice hockey logos in our sports logo section. Today we'll have hockey logo designs that teams from Northeast and Northweast divisions take pride in.

It is time now for another sip of great beer. If Carlsberg is probably the best beer in the world, Heineken is probably the best known. With over 130 breweries in more than 65 countries the company brews and sells more than 170 international premium, regional, local and specialty beers, of which Heineken keeps the top of the list.

Music and graphic design... they are both arts but we perceive them with different senses. We hear the music, and sometimes, to enjoy it even more we close our eyes. How do we express music using graphic design, an art that is addressed to completely different senses. We should remember though that music begins with graphic signs scribbled on a piece of paper, the musical notes are primarily graphic signs. In this music logo design selection we've chosen logo designs that we thought captured very well in graphic something that is usually addressed to our ears.

Sometimes you need to play to get the creative juices flowing. Even the simplest idea  can give you a boost in the creative process especially when used to the potential. So i was thinking to go back in time to elementary school and work with an idea that we used to play with back then. We are going to create a butterfly logo out of paint.

In our famous logo design history section we've had some sports logos, then some food logos and now seems to be the time for a sip of famous beer. Established in 1847 by J.C. Jacobsen, Carlsberg brewery pioneered refrigeration techniques, steam brewing and the propagation of one single yeast strain, and it is recognized today as probably the best beer in the world.

Sometimes i seem to be in need of a folded paper-like text, so I thought I'd give it a try and simulate this in Adobe Illustrator. You'll be able to use this either for a folded paper logo design or for other design work. We will use only Illustrator to create a text that will look like built using folded strips of paper.

To use or not to use a human face in a logo design... that is the question! One can argue over the subject, balance the pros and cons, but against all the odds KFC has done it using the Colonel Sanders' face as the company icon. A human face you can love or hate, you can like or dislike, but you will surely love this guy after you've tasted his chicken.

I haven't used this tool in Photoshop until recently, but i found that it can be a very powerful tool and nevertheless fun to play with. This tool can be used to design lots of things and for this post i found it very useful for designing a barbed wire logo.

It's probably partly because I'm hungry right now and partly because i believe that McDonald's has nail it with lots of things but especially with the french fries. McDonald's has one of the best recognized logos worldwide that sometimes becomes synonymous with fast food. When you are a player into the global market, a powerful visual identity that gets you out of the crowd and positions you as a leader is of crucial importance.

It is an obvious choice to use an animal in your logo design when you have this animal in your company name or your business offers products for animals or animal products. It became however a common practice, an actual trend, to use an animal image in logo design without an obvious reason. Today, it seems to be all about animals.

I've always loved photographers, especially the ones that step up and go beyond in exploring and surprising something that you wouldn't have seen in a moment or scene before. Photography is a very personal and subjective business and as a designer it is alway interesting and fun to design a logo for a photography artist or studio, mainly because you need to identify that special element that makes the photographer unique. Here is a handful of logo designers that managed to do a great job in designing cool photography logos.

After the previous posts about Adidas and Puma logo history, it is time to take a look at probably the best known and loved sports brand in the world, Nike. We are all familiar with the Nike Swoosh logo, endorsed by a huge list of superstars such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Venus and Serena Williams, a list that could go on and on. The swoosh symbol that is now so famous and loved had a feeble start, and as in any great story, it went from a humble beginning to an incredible future.

Something that begun as a rivalry between brothers led to the creation of Puma, a company that produces high-end athletic shoes, lifestyle footwear and other sportswear. As I've posted in the logo history of Adidas article few days ago, after the misunderstandings among Dassler brothers, Rudolph (Rudi) Dassler founded Puma in Germany in 1948. Today, Puma is recognized for producing sophisticated athletic shoes, best known for manufacturing soccer shoes. Puma sponsors many national football teams and famous athletes around the world.

Take a pen and a piece of paper (or a pen and a graphic tablet). Start drawing without taking your pen off the paper/tablet. Its alway tricky isn't it? Here are few samples of how some talented designers have turned tricky into awesome. They managed to tell a story with a simple line born from the flow of their pen.
